Bought a bluetooth keyboard for my iPad

I just bought a new bluetooth keyboard for the iPad because I found it quite tough to write on my blog and other apps that require extensive typing. The trade off is a thicker and heavy iPad. I wonder if this is worth the investment. It is definitely heavier, like a mini laptop.
